Quality Games Are Self-Selecting

As I’m trying to decide the next game I choose to review, it occured to me that most of the games that I own I tend to really enjoy, so as I review them, it’s going to be hard to really complain that they aren’t that good. I don’t want you as a reader to think that I’m soft on all games or anything like that, so it made me think about how gamers buy games.

The fact of the matter is that this site is not the only place to get quality game reviews, news, etc. In fact, with the advent of the internet there are literally thousands of sites with an abundant supply of game information. So, how in effect there is so much information out there that there is no good reason to buy bad games unless you have a compulsion to buy crap, or perhas you’re super brand loyal. It’s possible. After all, who is to say a sequel to a very good game is going to suck. Wait, Halo 2 and countless other games proved this is sometimes more likely than not. Doh!

The point is that you can save money by not buying bad games. Find the good ones based on countless reviews, blogs, magazines and so on and you will shortly end up with a backlog of crazy awesome games that are worth playing. Or, you could just sign up for GameTap or World of Warcraft. Plenty of great games there too.
