In an interview at GamesIndustry.biz, Bungie’s Community Director indicated that Halo 3 Recon is going to be Bungie’s last Halo game and they will be moving on to other games outside the Halo universe. As a PC gamer I’m super stoked because if nothing else, I think this could mean that Bungie will be moving back to its PC roots possibly.

Nothing has been announced, but the fact is that before Microsoft bought Bungie, they were a very well respected developer responsible for such PC classics as Oni, MDK, and the Myth series. I wouldn’t be surprised if their next game is in the Marathon series or possibly a brand new series, but the likelihood that their games will no longer be Xbox exclusive I think is very high. Microsoft is still their publisher, but I think we’ll see Bungie pushing both the Xbox and Games for Windows platforms further along going forward.
