World Of Warcraft Is Still Growing

Just when you thought everybody and their brother is playing Wolrd of Warcraft and there couldn’t be any growth for such a massive game, well you’re wrong. I just saw that World of Warcraft has now crossed the 11 million subscriber mark. 11 Million. That’s just plain ridiculous. Seriously.

On a more historical note to put this into context, the game passed 10 million subscribers in January. That’s 10% growth in a game that most would think hit a saturation point at 10 million subscribers. Congratulations go out to Blizzard for keeping 10, well 11 million gamers happy. I can’t fathom the balancing act that requires on their part.

To make this feat even more impressive, in the last few months Age of Conan and Warhammer Online have both launched and seem do be doing decently well in their own right. I suppose this is the supreme power of the forthcoming expansion for World of Warcraft. Obviously, there is a bit of a run up to the expansion since people will be wanting to get geared up and ready to roll on day one, but still, 11 million users. That’s crazy.
